Magazine Advert

I created 3 different layouts for the album covers asking people comment on their preference. I incorporated different features found in existing magazine adverts and made them relevant to our product.
This particular advert was inspired by Stereophics advert. I incorporated the idea of having the artist sit on the chair, however i used it in a different context. Stereophonics used the chairs to suggest a chilling atmosphere reflecting the intertextual title. However I was to position the artist on the chair with the clock behind him to promote the album title - Lost NOT Found, by relating it to time being lost but never found.
The final product was a fuse of all 3 layouts as people liked different features amongst the sketches.

Animatic

We created an animatic for our Music Video so that we were able to identify areas in which could be improved before we formed the final video. From the animatic we identified that there should be more variation in camera angles to make the video more dynamic. It is better than a conventional storyboard as you see the final product in action rather than applying the song or forming the video in your mind.

Schedule

Schedule.

I used Google Calender to form a Filming schedule for the production of our video. I was able to create a time period for the event, set reminders and attach the location of the event via the integrated map. We then printed out the schedule for each member of the production team - Camera Man and the actors. A copy was also issued to the school keeper to ensure that the space is available for recording.

Rehersal

Here is a sample of dancing that incorporated into the video. Prior to this rehearsal we had a debrief about the types of choreography we would use. We recorded the whole session so that would capture any dance moves that came naturally as a response to the music track, as well as any experimental moves that could then be developed and incorporated

Location

Solo Signing

For our solo singing parts we wanted to have a consistent backdrop that would challenge the conventions of rnb videos. We thought that a bricked background would achieve this as most solo parts in RnB videos are located within the narratives vicinity. For example in Marques Houston's song 'That Girl' the solo part is in the same street as he was previously dancing in.

Dance Scene

To day we filmed the dance scene with the girl at Streatham hill station. The scheduled day was pushed back from Saturday due to unavoidable events, however we are still on schedule. Whilst filming, an officer told us that recording wasn't permitted on the platform unless granted permission, so we told him our intentions and was granted with that permission. There were frequent pauses throughout the filming as we would have to wait until the train passed so avoid continuity errors. The lighting at this scene was perfect for adding intimacy, whilst the addition of the train platform made it seem as if the characters are not ashamed to express themselves in public. The wide platform allowed us to explore
our choreography and follow the conventional 'female and male' dance scenes in R&B videos where they dance on a wide pavement or street.

Script
Before we created the animatic, we annotated the script with actions that occur at each point. This was helpful for the creation of the animatic and also aided the actors when performing and learning the lyrics.
